Donovan Bezer is a trial attorney admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey, and is the founding member of the firm.
A graduate of Rutgers-Newark, School of Law, Donovan Bezer practices commercial litigation and real estate/construction law. He has won more than 75% of the cases he has tried to judgment, as well as an appeal (Danny Diemerit v. Thomas Deloy, et als, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, Docket No. A-4346-10T3 (2012)). He has published numerous legal articles in the area of construction litigation, telecommunications/internet law, and municipal law.
Donovan Bezer is a member of the District VIII Ethics Committee. He has been a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Middlesex County Bar Association, and the Hudson Inn of Court. In 2009 he won a national writing contest held by the American Bar Association for his article entitled “The Inadequacy of Surety Bid Bonds in Public Construction Contracting.” The article was published in the Public Contracting Law Journal.
On behalf of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, Donovan Bezer has served as a mock trial judge and lectured middle school students about the practice of law. He has served on the Board of Trustees of Art House, Inc., a multi-arts nonprofit in Jersey City, N.J., and on the Board of Directors of Partners in Prevention, a nonprofit organization in Hudson County, New Jersey. He was lead counsel to the 2009 reelection campaign of Jersey City Councilman Steven Fulop (Ward E) and counsel to Steven Fulop’s mayoral campaign in 2013. In 2002 and 2006, he served on the legal team of then-mayoral candidate Cory A. Booker.
